How to schedule the sending of an e-mail on Gmail

We are going through holiday periods, it is true. Yet there can always be, and for many there is actually no difference, the need for send email. Even just as a reminder, or to deliver a job on a certain date, or for greetings or documents by a certain deadline. In short, the reasons can be endless. So, especially for those with a few days off to use, it can be useful schedule the sending of communications a few days in advance, to not even have to have the trouble of standing in front of the PC or dialing them from a smartphone while thinking or doing something else.

In reality, the approach can make sense in any context, even during normal working days. Both not to forget important items and, sometimes, for strategic-relational reasons: maybe a job was requested from us within a certain deadline but we manage to finish it ahead of time and we don’t want to give the idea that it was done hastily (we are good and fast). Again, here too the factors can be very numerous.

But how do you plan to send an e-mail to Gmail, and possibly modify or delete it? The feature has been available since 2019. From your computer just log into your Google account and then Gmail, click on the top left of the screen you write and create the email. Then, in the lower left, next to Send, you have to be careful to click on the arrow pointing down, right on the right side of the blue Enter button, and choose the only available item, Schedule sending. At that point you can choose the exact date and time in which to send the message. They can be programmed this way up to 100 emails.

Per view The edit scheduled emails just access the section In program, on the left column, select the communication in question and, in the upper right part, click on Cancel sending. Once you have made your changes, just repeat the previous steps and reschedule the sending at a certain date and time. For definitively cancel sending, instead, it is enough to stop at the first step, that is, to cancel it. When a scheduled e-mail is canceled it is not lost but returns to the status of draft. If the Scheduled section no longer has emails to send, it will disappear from the Gmail side menu.

From Gmail for Android or iOS, however, the sending scheduling features are available through the three-dot menu respectively vertical or horizontal in the upper right corner of a new e-mail you are composing: Program sending is the first item that will appear in the short list of functions.
