“How to Train Your Dragon”: live-action has first image released

The production live-action of “How to Train Your Dragon” the first image was released, showing the actor Mason Thames in the role of Hiccup.

Empire magazine was the first to publish the photo exclusively (see below). On social media, fans of the franchise compared the photo to images from the animation.

In addition to Thames, actors Gerard Butler, Nico Parker, Nick Frost and Julian Dennison were also confirmed in the film.

The live-action release in theaters is scheduled for June 2025. The film comes after the animated trilogy, with the first film released in 2010 and the last in 2019.

In the story, Hiccup is a young Viking who cannot adapt to the traditions of fighting dragons. After helping the dragon Toothless, with whom he forms a friendly relationship, the young man dedicates himself to showing others that dragons and Vikings can coexist in peace.
