The main problem that immediately comes to mind is how difficult and tediously long it will take to transfer your entire music collection to a new platform. In this article, I will consider both universal and individual methods for the most popular services to quickly and easily transfer all your tracks and playlists to Yandex.Music.
Official music transfer function
Most recently, Yandex has added a new feature to its streaming service, which is designed to help new users who are about to make the transition to Yandex.Music, while maintaining their music collection. To transfer, it is only suggested to log in to the desired service and wait a bit for the transfer. All your playlists will automatically be added to your new library. The only caveat is that only Apple Music and Spotify support this procedure.
How tracks are generally imported into Yandex.Music
The service from Yandex has one very interesting feature: you can go to a special page for importing music collections, paste a list of your tracks into the text field in the format shown in the screenshot above, and the service itself will find matching or similar songs in its database and will add them to your collection. It turns out that to transfer your media library from absolutely any service, it is enough to “get” a correctly formatted list of tracks and paste it on the Yandex.Music page. Next, I will look at how you can get such a list of the most popular streaming sites.
A universal way – a bot in a telegram
Of course, craftsmen have long solved most of the pressing problems, today’s is no exception. So, you can turn to a completely free bot that is able to transfer your library in various forms between five services at once: Apple Music, Spotify, VK, BOOM and Yandex.Music. The bot gives extremely clear instructions, so even the most experienced user will understand it. It is also important to note that authorization in the services for the bot to work is optional.
Transferring music from Spotify
To transfer your tracks from Spotify, you need to copy the link to the playlist of interest and paste it on SpotListr, a special site that has a fairly wide range of utilities directly for Spotify. The only caveat is that in order to work with this service, you will have to log in to it through your Spotify account. After pressing the “Search!” button, a list of tracks will be formed at the bottom of the page, which can be safely copied and pasted on the Yandex.Music import page.
Transferring the link from VK
To transfer tracks from VKontakte, we will use the console command, the code of which can be copied from GitHub. Then we open the playlist of interest, scroll to the very bottom in order to download all the tracks, open the console by pressing “Control + Shift + J” for Chrome and “Control + Shift + K” for Firefox, paste the copied code there and press “Enter”. The download of a text file will automatically start, where all the music is already correctly formatted. It remains only to copy and paste it into the Yandex.Music import page.
Transfer music from Apple Music
To transfer your library from Apple Music, just open the desktop version of iTunes, select all the tracks in the playlist we are interested in (“cmd + A” or “ctrl + A”), copy (using the usual “cmd + C” or “ctrl + C ”) and paste it on the Yandex.Music import page.
