Apple has released an official video describing the audio recognition feature that is present on the iPhone and iPad. It is in the accessibility menu, in order to enable it, you need to go to “Settings”> “Accessibility”> “Sound recognition”.
Apple confirms that your phone or tablet will continuously listen for certain sounds and, using an artificial intelligence system, will notify you when sounds are recognized. For example, if you set your iPhone or iPad to sound a doorbell, your mobile device will notify you when it rings.

The company adds that the sound recognition function should not be relied upon in circumstances where you may be hurt or injured, in high-risk situations, emergencies, or when navigating.
iPhone and iPad can recognize the sounds of sirens, smoke alarms, fire alarms, home appliances, car horns, doorbells, door knocks, crying babies, screams, coughs, pet sounds, and so on.
After turning on the sound recognition function, you will not be able to use the Hey Siri function to access the voice assistant. You can also set up your mobile device to listen to more than one sound at the same time.
This feature is useful for hearing impaired users.
