How to write Christmas greetings to Queen Elizabeth and other British royals (and have an answer)

Once you have written your ticket, you just have to send it. Where is it? For Queen Elizabeth the address to keep in mind is that of Buckingham Palace, where there is an office dedicated to correspondence: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA United Kingdom. The Queen’s address also applies to Princess Anne, the Dukes of York and their daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.

Per Kate Middleton and William of England, instead, two addresses can be used: that of Kensington Palace, where the couple resides: Their Royal Highness The Duke and The Duchess of Cambridge, Kensington Palace, London, 484 PU, or that of Clarence House, the residence of Carlo and Camilla, where their offices are located and which also applies to Harry and Meghan: Clarence House London SWA1A 1BA United Kingdom.

If you write before Christmas, the answers arrive, on average, between the end of January and the first half of February, even if, considering the large number of mail, a little delay is always possible.

As for the members of the Windsor house, the reply usually bears the post office stamp of Buckingham Palace, the headquarters of each “royal reply”, and the message is printed and unsigned, the same for all. More expansive, royals who get less mail, like Camilla of Cornwall and Sarah Ferguson, who often sign greetings themselves or entrust a letter to their personal secretary. A curiosity? The writer’s addresses are recorded: If your address contains an error, replies will continue to contain it, even if some time has passed since the first submission.

Two examples of royal responses from Kensington Palace.

All that remains is to choose the note and go to send it. An advice? As Kate Middleton turns 40 on January 9th, bring along with a birthday card, you can also insert it in the same envelope as the Christmas greetings. To thank you, two postcards will arrive.
