HRADF: The utilization schedule for six large properties

A portfolio of important properties throughout Greece for development is launched in the next period by the HRDH with tourism investments to play a prominent role.

Among the properties, the procedures of which are expected to run immediately, are Loutropoli in Kammena Vourla and the area in Thermopylae based on the updated business development plan (asset development plan) recently published by the state body, which is in charge of privatizations. the utilization of the state’s private property.

The tender process for the new concession contract for Kamena Vourla, which includes the facilities of the five-star Galini hotel unit, thermal springs and two hotels that are closed, is scheduled to start this month.

Currently, the Galini Hotel, which has a capacity of 500 beds, is leased by the Mitsis group. So, since the group in the tender, which will start in May for the new concession contract, plans to proceed with the upgrade of the Galini Hotel.

The total area to be utilized is a total area of ​​468,125 sq.m. and it is a seaside property in the southern part of the Gulf of Malia in the center of the settlement of Kammenon Vourla, where one of the most famous thermal centers is located, whose roots go back to the 1930s.

The sea front of the property at the northern border consists of a sandy beach about 520 m long while the southern border extends to the pine-covered slopes of Mount Knimis part of the Kallidromo mountain range.

Based on the old concession contract, the modern luxury hotel unit Galini operates in this area, which is currently leased by the Mitsis group, which has a Wellness & Spa center and a hydrotherapy center powered by thermal springs.

We remind you that about two months ago the Mitsis group entered into an agreement for the acquisition and development of North Afandou in Rhodes with the Greek-American businessman Mercourios Angeliadis. The latter had emerged as a bidder with the company M.A. Angeliadis after a competition conducted by the HRDH in 2013 for the area of ​​1,320 acres, which includes the golf course of Afandou with an area of ​​500 acres.

The former American base of Gournes and the property in Thermopylae

Within the next quarter, it is estimated that the transfer of shares for the property of the former US base of Gournes in the Heraklion Peninsula in Crete will be completed.

We remind you that a few months ago in the tender held by the HRDH, the preferred investor with a bid of 40.2 million was Ellactor’s subsidiary, REDS, which plans to develop in the area of ​​350 acres a large integrated tourist complex with casino.

At this stage, the tender dossier has been submitted to the Court of Auditors, which is expected to give the green light, which will unlock the next step for the financial closure.

The effort to utilize the Thermopylae Thermal Spring is also on the right track, a property that includes an area of ​​785 acres, of which approximately 115 acres are commercially usable.

Hydrotherapy and hotel facilities have been developed in it, which however have been abandoned while near the limit of the area to be utilized is the old hydrotherapy center. So far, the method for the development of the area is under discussion while it is foreseen within the last quarter of 2022 to start the tender process for the award of the contract.

We remind you that at present the usable area has been finalized after the removal of the archeological zones A and the forest areas. It should be noted that the final area does not include the thermal spring and the old hydrotherapy center with its facilities as they were included in the archaeological zone A.

At the end of last month, the public consultation for the Strategic Environmental Impact Study started, which is expected to last until the end of July.

Utilization of camping in Kamena Vourla, Agia Triada and Halkidiki

The HRDH also increases its speed for the utilization of the camping areas that it has in its portfolio. Specifically, within the last quarter of this year, it is estimated that there will be a tender process for the abandoned camping facilities of EOT in Kamena Vourla, subject to the resolution of the issue of biological treatment.

It is a coastal property with a total area of ​​about 800 acres of which 580 acres are usable. During the last months of the year, the competition is expected to start for the Coast and the camping of Agia Triada in the municipality of Thermaikos with the property including an area of ​​126.6 acres with an extensive sandy coastal front of about 600 meters.

By the first quarter of 2023, it is predicted that the tender for the development of the coast and camping in the Poseidon area of ​​the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki will have started.

This is a property with a total area of ​​293,870 acres, of which the usable are 140 acres and has a sandy beach front of 600 meters, while within the usable part, camping facilities have been developed and are operating.
