HTC has introduced its new flagship smartphone for the first time in four years – Desire 22 Pro (before that there was HTC U12+). It was advertised as a gadget with a focus on virtual and augmented reality technologies, but it seems that this is a regular, not the cheapest smartphone with several branded AR applications. At least, it seems so now, when only local Taiwanese publications have written about the new product so far. However, there are still unique features – compatibility with Vive Flow VR glasses.

At $406 (local), the HTC Desire 22 Pro’s specs don’t look outstanding, and its Snapdragon 695 processor doesn’t look like it’s competitors offer much more powerful chipsets.
- Display: 6.6″ Full HD+, 120Hz.
- Processor: Snapdragon 695.
- RAM: 8 GB.
- User memory: 128 GB.
- Main camera: 64 MP + 13 MP (wide-angle) + 5 MP (depth sensor).
- Front camera: 32 MP.
- Battery: 4520 mAh, 18 W, supports wireless and reverse charging.
- Preinstalled operating system: Android 12.

The main focus is on the proprietary Vive platform – the smartphone has several pre-installed relevant applications. With them, you can, for example, buy and sell NFTs, share your virtual space, participate in VR conferences, and create a virtual avatar. Separately, compatibility with Vive Flow virtual reality glasses is noted – the manufacturer claims quick pairing.
