Huawei has shared the important achievements of its new HarmonyOS operating system. As announced at the HDC (Huawei Developer Conference) in China, there are already 134,000 apps built for HarmonyOS.
These apps use HMS Core, a set of tools designed to help app developers build apps for the Huawei ecosystem. In addition, the number of developers connected to the platform has exceeded 4 million.
HMS Core itself continues to evolve, and HMS Core 6.0 was unveiled at the event with enhanced support for Huawei’s cloud services.
To grow the HarmonyOS ecosystem faster, the company launched the Huawei HMS 2021 international app competition, which invites developers to create innovative apps based on HMS Core.
Developers from China, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa can participate in the competition. The cash prize pool is $ 1 million, but Huawei will also offer “practical” rewards, including marketing support, cloud resources, bonuses for using the HMS Core payment system, and more.
Huawei has recently announced that HarmonyOS 2.0 is already installed on 10 million devices. By the end of the year, it is planned to bring this parameter to 360 million devices.
