Huawei HarmonyOS will replace Android in smartphones of at least three companies

Huawei recently hosted the Huawei HarmonyOS Connect Partner Summit. At the event, Yang Haisong, vice president of Huawei Consumer Business AI and Smart Full Scenario Business Department, announced that at least three smartphone manufacturers will use the HarmonyOS system.

He confirmed that Harmony is a completely open source system that can work on a wide variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs, car entertainment systems and more.

Another Huawei executive, outgoing Huawei chairman Xu Zhijun, said that by the end of this year, at least 300 million devices will be running the HarmonyOS operating system, of which 200 million are Huawei devices.
