Huawei has introduced new versions of the Mate 40 Pro and Mate X2 smartphones to the home market. From the usual, previously released models, they have only one difference – the lack of 5G support. At the same time, the hardware platform in both cases remained the same – it is Kirin 9000.
Huawei has not many single-chip systems left, and new ones, due to US sanctions, cannot yet be produced. Therefore, the company may have decided to keep the top SoC with 5G for Huawei P50, and “dilute” the current models with versions based on Kirin 9000 4G. However, it is possible that the Mate 40 Pro 4G and Mate X2 4G are created simply as slightly more affordable versions of the flagships. Either way, these two smartphones will soon go on sale in China. Prices should be announced very soon, but the new items are unlikely to be much cheaper than the original, because with the exception of 5G, all other parameters correspond to the previously presented models.
