Huawei has started beta testing programs for its new proprietary EMUI 12 shell internationally.
Users from Russia and some other regions will be able to participate in testing programs. Russian users can already sign up to participate in EMUI 12 testing for Huawei P40 series smartphones – the base model Huawei P40, the more expensive Huawei P40 Pro and the premium Huawei P40 Pro +.
As reported in the official Huawei community for Russia, testing will begin in mid-November and the update for participants will come automatically.
The manufacturer also warns:
We draw your attention to the fact that the beta version may contain errors, rollback to the previous firmware version will be available only after the end of testing. If you are not prepared for possible errors or inconveniences when using your smartphone, then you better wait for the stable version to be released. ”
Huawei has already announced the list of smartphones that will receive the EMUI 12 update. However, this will not happen soon – the release of stable versions is planned to begin only in 2022. Meanwhile, a couple of smartphones with EMUI 12 installed are already available in Russia – these are Huawei Nova 8 and Huawei Nova 9.
EMUI 12 offers innovations such as increased security, simplified interaction with laptops and tablets, a new shutter and stepless font adjustment.
