Shortly after the announcement of HarmonyOS 3.0, designed for Chinese devices, Huawei introduced EMUI 13, a new version of proprietary firmware designed for the global market. It is in many ways reminiscent of the Chinese shell, but it also has some features.
Much attention is paid to widgets. In addition to preparing several size options and implementing the “stack” function (when widgets are one above the other, and they can be moved with swipes – like in iOS), widgets are available in preview mode – just swipe up on the icons of supported applications.

Another option is small but useful – in EMUI 13, you can quickly change the size of folders, setting up not only horizontal templates, but also vertical ones.

Among the innovations of the new firmware is the Drag-and-Drop function, which works with reference to the SuperHab floating space. Thanks to this innovation, users can copy any text, image or file from one application and transfer it to another.

Among other things, the developers listened to users and implemented improved storage cleaning functions. The system will allow you to quickly compress rarely used applications and files, get rid of duplicates, and so on.
On the official website, Huawei talked about all the innovations in EMUI 13. The company did not announce on which devices and when the new firmware will be available.
