Experts of the analytical company ABI Research have summed up the results of the last year in the market of passive antennas for cellular base stations. According to their calculations, Huawei not only retained its leadership title, but also increased its market share to 35.1%.

Despite intensifying competition, the four leading companies were able to maintain their positions. These are Huawei, CommScope, Kathrein Mobile Communication and Rosenberger. Amphenol Antenna Solutions moved up to fifth place from sixth. In total, the companies in the top five account for more than 70% of the sales of passive antennas for base stations in monetary terms.
Analysts note that the market has faced difficulties in 2020 due to the increased focus on active antennas for the 5G mobile network, as well as due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has created uncertainty and affected the day-to-day operations of enterprises, causing delays in investment in the deployment and modernization of mobile networks. This effect was observed in both developing and developed regions.
