IDC published the results of a study of the Russian PC market in the last quarter of last year, when about 1.66 million desktops and laptops were shipped. This is 3.3% less than in the same period a year earlier.
HP ranks first with a market share of 18.3%, followed by Lenovo (18%), Acer (17.1%) and Asus (11.8%). The top five is closed by Huawei, which took 5.4% of the Russian PC market. Notebook sales were down 0.8% over the past year to 1.142 million units, with Acer leading the way. Lenovo, HP, Asus and Huawei follow. Desktop PC shipments fell 8.4%, led by HP, Lenovo, iRU, Acer and Dell.
The share of consumer laptop models declined 1.5%, while consumer desktop models grew 18.0% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. These indicators correlate well with the increased demand of the population for gaming desktops (due to the release of several expected games in the fourth quarter), the growing popularity of all-in-one and the interest in small desktop PCs. A quarter of notebook shipments and more than half of desktop shipments were for corporate customers.
Dmitry Ilyin, Senior Analyst, IDC
In total, 5.9 million PCs were shipped in Russia for the year, which is 11.6% more than a year earlier.
