A NASA (United States Space Agency) released this Monday (22) an image taken by Hubble Telescope which shows a blue “bubble” around a star. According to the publication, this is a name formation “Wolf-Rayet Nebula “.
It is formed by the interaction of stellar winds and layers of Hydrogen expelled by “Wolf-Rayet” stars, as seen in the center of the image. In this record, astronomers were able to estimate that this “bubble” expands at around 220 thousand kilometers per hour.
The caption of the publication made by NASA says that “This star will eventually die in a supernova explosion, but the ejected stellar material will continue to nourish a new generation of stars and planets”.
What is a nebula?
It is a giant cloud of cosmic dust and gas that is located in space. It can be formed in an explosion of dying stars or a supernova — a powerful stellar detonation. It may also be the name of a region of high star formation activity, a “star nursery”.
