Lotus, known for its iconic sports cars, has unveiled its first crossover. The novelty was called Eletre.
Eletre, as befits a modern car, works without an internal combustion engine. This is an electric crossover, and not only fast, but also big. The length of the machine is 5103 mm with a weight of just under 2 tons. For such a large electric machine, the mass turned out to be quite small.
As for the main characteristics, they have not yet been fully announced. The power is more than 600 hp, and the battery capacity exceeds 100 kWh. The range is also approximate – about 600 km. Acceleration is accurate and very impressive, as Lotus says 2.9 seconds to 96 km/h. But the maximum speed is limited at around 250 km / h. Charging power is 350 kW, which allows you to add 400 km to the range in just 20 minutes.
Lotus wouldn’t be itself if it didn’t pay attention to many important aspects of a sports car. For example, the car received a lot of carbon fiber elements, which made it possible to achieve a relatively small mass. Eletre also has an active aerodynamic system: a movable spoiler, active air intake flaps and cameras instead of side mirrors.
Also worth noting is the almost absent dashboard. It is available, but it is a very narrow screen with a height of only 30 mm. Lotus decided that in such a car it would be more appropriate for the driver to use a projection screen. There is also a large 15-inch OLED-screen infotainment system.
Production of Eletre will start at the end of this year, and sales will begin at the beginning of the next. Estimated price is 120,000 euros.
