Hugh Jackman Returns as Wolverine in Upcoming Deadpool Movie

Actor Ryan Reynolds announced on Tuesday that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming film “Deadpool”, set for release on September 6, 2024.

“Hello everyone, we are extremely sad that we lost D23 [evento da Disney]but we’ve been working really hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ movie for a long time,” Reynolds said in a video posted to Instagram, referring to the Disney convention that took place earlier this month.

The actor added that he wanted to make Deadpool’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as this is the first “Deadpool” movie to be produced after Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox) “special”, Reynolds said he sought ” staying true to the character, finding new motivation and meaning.”

“Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to delve deeper. And I… have nothing,” he joked. “Yes, completely empty here. And terrifying. But we had an idea.”

Then, in the video posted by Ryan Reynolds, enters Jackman – or a stunt double – who Reynolds talks to as he walks in the background.

“Hey Hugh, do you want to play Wolverine one more time?” Reynolds asks.

“Yes, of course, Ryan,” Jackman replies nonchalantly.

Deadpool was introduced in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in 2009, but totally different from the intelligent version of the independent films.

Wolverine died in the movie “Logan”, so Jackman’s appearance will require some “let’s ignore a lot of history” style work, but they’re likely to have some fun with it – just as they clearly did in the closing logo at the end of Reynold’s video.

Jackman and Reynolds had a “crisis” that included pranks teasing each other on social media.

The duo’s partnership will mark the third film in the blockbuster “Deadpool” franchise, which included two films released in 2016 and 2018.
