The Australian actor Hugh Jackman 55, shared a photo alongside Daphne Keen who plays Laura Kinney, X-23, in “Logan” (2017). The 19-year-old actress will be in “Deadpool & Wolverine” . The new Marvel film hits Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (25).
“Now and then,” Jackman wrote in the post, which, in addition to the recent selfie, features a scene from the 2017 film.
The young Spanish woman’s participation was confirmed in the film’s latest trailer, released on July 19. Also known as “Wolverine’s daughter”, X-23 is a mutant derived from an experiment by the Weapon X project, which aimed to create a sort of “clone” of the hero with claws on her hands. She was introduced to the big screen in “Logan”, and has not returned to the role since.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dafne talked about what it was like to return to playing the character seven years later and keeping this secret until now: “I had a lot of fun keeping it a secret. I was questioned in every interview and I lied.”
According to the actress, Laura will still be “fierce and wild”, as portrayed in the other film, but she will already know how to communicate better and will recognize Wolverine’s figure as a father more.
“She understands parental anger more now. Laura in ‘Logan’ stumbled upon having a father and then losing her father. We find her again really knowing how to appreciate — and with this kind of wisdom to her — how much her father means to her,” she said.
“The first thing I did for ‘Deadpool’ was stunt training, before I shot anything. I put the suit on and I was like, ‘Oh! She’s back.’” he added.
