The Russian Defense Ministry said humanitarian corridors had opened in five Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev. Russian forces said they stopped attacks on the route locations around 9 am local time, 4 am GMT.

At least 21 civilians, including two children, were killed in a Russian airstrike on a residential street in the northeastern Ukrainian town of Sumy on Monday night. The bodies were recovered by emergency services in ongoing searches.
Donations to Ukraine
The World Bank approved a $723 million package of loans and grants for Ukraine on Monday. The money will be used to pay essential services, healthcare workers, pension funds and social programs.
Russian natural gas and oil
Russia has threatened to cut off the flow of natural gas to Europe and predicted “catastrophic consequences” if the United States and its allies stop buying oil from Vladimir Putin’s country.
Brazilian leaves the Bolshoi
The Brazilian David Motta Soares, dancer and one of the most important soloists of the Bolshoi Theater in Russia, announced that he is leaving the company in solidarity with the Ukrainians. In an Instagram post, the 24-year-old said he was “deeply saddened”.
