The uFrench Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that during yesterday’s ninth day of demonstrations against her reform of the pension system they happened 457 inductionswhile 441 were injured policemen and gendarmes.
In his statements to the Cnews network, the interior minister stated that there were 903 communal and rubbish fires in Paris during the union demonstration.
The Minister of the Interior repeated the finding about the radicalization of the protesters’ movement, blaming it on the extreme left. “The extreme left wants to attack the Republic”he said, adding that a “collective message of condemnation” is needed.
Gerald Darmanen expressed surprise at the lack of reaction from politicians for the wounded and gendarmes who reach a thousand since the beginning of the mobilizations. He spoke of a kind of “national sport that consists in tarnishing” the security forces.
“The country must wake up and condemn the extreme left and the riots. They are not many, but they are extremely violent,” he said.
Referring to black blockswho starred in the riots, estimated at 1,500 during yesterday’s demonstration in Paris, Gérald Darmanin said that they should be called “black bourges”because they come from wealthy families and added that if they “could kill” a policeman or gendarme “they would be happy”.
The minister hailed the “excellent” work of law enforcement in preventing “death”. “There was no death, there was no serious injury,” he said, adding, however, that there was a serious injury to a protester in Rouen under unclear circumstances.
