Just yesterday, January 12, Mozilla officially presented to the world the newest version of Firefox browser with index 96.0, which received many improvements and advanced optimization. For example, the browser received a noise reduction function when making video calls, as well as an advanced protection system that should protect users from Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. But it’s not worth updating to a new version of the browser yet – the update simply makes the application unusable. Accordingly, if the user has this main browser, then it is worth postponing the update until the patch is released.
The problem with Firefox has been reported by many users on the web who complain that when using the DoH (DNS over HTTPS) protocol, the browser cannot establish any connection. Accordingly, users simply cannot open any site, although there are no problems with the Internet. Unfortunately, disabling this function after activation and detecting the problem does not correct the situation, and the browser cannot be closed – it simply remains in the background, consuming system resources. The situation can be corrected only by “killing” the process through the “Task Manager”.
At the moment, users have found a way to fix the problem manually. To do this, write in the address bar about:config and open the settings in a new window, then find the parameter network.http.http3.enabled and switch it to false… After that, you need to restart the browser and the problem will be fixed, but this, of course, is only a temporary solution. In the meantime, millions of users from all over the world are waiting for the bug to be officially recognized by Mozilla (the problem is already being actively discussed on the bug tracker), after which a full-fledged update will be released.
