Hundreds of unique Fleetwood Mac items and memorabilia sold at auction

In auction hundreds of items and memorabilia were sold Fleetwood Mac which document the rock band’s path to glory. The auction took place in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, and the items sold for tens of thousands of British pounds.

Gold and platinum records and tour contracts were among the items sold by the band’s former manager, Clifford Adamswho also worked as their agent and co-songwriter from 1967 to 1974.

Clifford Adams, also known as Clifford Davis, also left a personal letter from band founder Peter Greenwho died in 2020. H letter sold for 2,000 English pounds, contracts of the band for concerts were bought for 4,000 of English pounds, while for the radio and television appearances them, some gave up to 2,500 English pounds.

“It’s about an incredible, unique historical record one of the greatest bands of all time,” said Robin Fletcher, director of Hansons Auctioneers Kent. “Fans had the opportunity to purchase items that offered an insight into what life was like for the band in the early days and why Peter Green chose to leave. His letter, which details his decision to shun wealth and live a simple life in Hawaii, is deeply moving. I was hoping that its sale price would reach 2,000 pounds, and it did,” he added, according to APE-MPE.

“I became their manager because Peter asked me to, he was the superstar of Fleetwood Mac. He was regarded as the number one blues guitarist of all timewho was admired by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and BB King,” Clifford Adams reported.

He ended by mentioning how he became the band’s manager. “In 1967 I went to see Fleetwood Mac, fell in love with them and became their agent. A few weeks later, Peter asked me to be their manager. I said: “I’m not a manager, I’m an agent”. Peter said, “You are now.” He trusted me. We became very good friendssaid Clifford Adams.
