Hungary and Slovakia have decided not to support the European Union’s plan to impose another plot of penalties, 18th in the row, against Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Sigado announced at a press conference broadcast on his facebook page. The two countries have decided to block sanctions, reacting to EU plans to gradually discontinue imports of Russian energy products. European diplomats said they regard this statement as a negotiating tactic and expect that a solution will be found before the EU leaders’ meeting at the end of the week.
