THE Hungary recorded an outbreak of its highly pathogenic H5N1 virus bird flu on a turkey farm in an area in the east of the country, while authorities diagnosed the virus in a dead swan in another, neighboring area, the National Food Chain Security Service (Nebih) announced on Wednesday.
This outbreak in the area Bikis, forced the authorities to almost kill 5,000 turkeys on a farm where the virus was detected yesterday, Tuesday, according to APE BPE, which cites a Reuters article.
Today H5N1 was also detected in the neighboring area Haidou– Bihar in a dead swan.
Two weeks ago more than 38,000 ducks were killed on a farm, as well as approximately 500 geese on second farm due to outbreak of bird flu in southern region Bath-Kiskun.
