Four people died in St. Lucie County as a result of Hurricane Milton.
The deaths were a result of tornadoes generated by Hurricane Milton, county officials said in a news release Thursday morning.
“First responders and public works/utilities crews are conducting response and recovery efforts caused by two confirmed tornadoes that touched down prior to Hurricane Milton’s landfall on Wednesday, October 9, beginning around 4:30 p.m. ,” the statement said. “The St. Lucie Medical Examiner has confirmed four fatalities as a result of these tornadoes.
