According to the latest data, Hyundai Motor is close to signing a partnership with Apple that will make South Korean carmaker Hyundai the preferred maker of the highly anticipated Apple Car.
In a report from Reuters, which cites knowledgeable sources, Hyundai Motor, which is Kia’s parent company, will commission Kia to work with Apple on the company’s first car from Cupertino. Hyundai officials said this week that they are considering partnering with foreign firms with the potential and expertise in self-driving cars and electric vehicles.

Over the past few months, rumors of Apple’s long-awaited car have become more frequent. According to some sources, Apple Car may come out in 2022, according to others – not earlier than 2024. There were also rumors that the production of Apple Car could be carried out at the Kia plant in Georgia.
Hyundai Motor subsidiary said earlier this month that it is in preliminary talks with Apple. Then the media reported that the companies were discussing the electric car and battery connection, which resulted in Hyundai shares rising by almost 25%.
Hyundai, Kia and Apple refrain from answering direct questions.
