Hyundai is accelerating the transition to electricity. All cars of the Genesis subsidiary brand will be electric vehicles from 2025

The entire automotive industry is moving towards electric traction. Tesla, Volkswagen and various Chinese companies are at the forefront of this movement, but the role of Korean Hyundai Motor is becoming more prominent. The company is accelerating its transition to electric powertrains, and the full transition to them of its premium subsidiary Genesis brand is one of the significant milestones.

Hyundai is accelerating the transition to electricity. All cars of the Genesis subsidiary brand will be electric vehicles from 2025

Every new Genesis model released after 2025 will be an electric vehicle. In total, the brand will have eight electric vehicles in the range by 2030, which will be sold in an amount of approximately 400,000 per year.

Despite the fact that formally all Genesis will be electric, they will receive this very electricity in two different ways: the first is traditional, from batteries. The second is still very exotic: from hydrogen fuel cells. Hyundai is developing both of these areas. Genesis’s first electric vehicle will be the GV60 crossover, due to hit the streets later this year. The GV60 is based on the same E-GMP platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. It is rumored to have versions ranging from 226 to 436 hp.
