Hyundai Motor CIS spoke about the results of its work on the Russian market. In particular, over the past year, the company sold 167,331 vehicles, which is 3% more than in 2020. Currently, the share of Hyundai in Russia is 10%. Sales growth is not significant, however, the company positively assesses this result, which it associates with the gradual recovery of the market after the pandemic, the emergence of new models (updated Santa Fe, fourth generation Tucson and second generation Creta) and the development of online services.
Hyundai results in Russia for 2021
In the last month of 2021, the company sold 7,591 Hyundai vehicles. According to the established tradition, the SUV turned out to be the most demanded class. In December, crossovers accounted for almost 55% of all vehicles sold, with the new generation Creta becoming the most popular model (3,081). Solaris (2,643) and Tucson (662) follow. If we talk for the entire past year, then the leaders here are the same, but Tucson lost to Santa Fe. In terms of the volume of crossovers sold in Russia, Hyundai retains the first place in this segment.
In addition to new models, 2021 was marked for Hyundai by the further development of the online car sales platform, through which 4,772 vehicles were sold, as well as the expansion of the Hyundai Motor CIS dealer network, which already has 194 centers. In April, the UKA used car online sales service was launched. For 9 months of work on it, more than 300 cars were sold. The company also reported on its Hyundai Mobility car subscription service. More than 5 thousand people used it, and new models of the Korean brand became available to customers. A similar offer for legal entities – Business Mobility – was used by 258 companies.
Hyundai Motor CIS had other successful projects in 2021. Among them is the financial product “CyberCASCO”, which allows you to profitably purchase an insurance policy, taking into account the mileage limit and the nature of driving. More than 3 thousand people have used it. In addition, the company continued to implement the Safe Road social initiative.
Hyundai plans in Russia for 2022
This year, Hyundai Motor CIS intends to start selling the updated Palisade SUV, the electric Ioniq 5, Tucson and Creta in the N Line version, as well as the Staria minivan in Russia. According to the company’s top manager, Creta and Tucson N Line will be discussed in detail in the first quarter. The electric car will be offered in an all-wheel drive modification and maximum equipment at a price of 4 to 5 million rubles (it will also be available by subscription). The Palisade crossover will be released in the fall, and the new Genesis G90, the flagship of Hyundai’s premium division, will appear in the second half of the year.

The company also promises to launch the Hyundai One app, which is an ecosystem with all branded services. With its help, users will be able to buy new and sell used cars, subscribe, hull insurance and OSAGO, and order various services. The project will be presented in the first half of this year.
