“I came here to hug you and support you” Navalny's widow and her daughter comfort each other

THE widow of Alexei Navalny, Yulia said today that she and her daughter Dasha comfort each other after sudden death of the dissident Alexei Navalny last week in a Russian penal colony.

Yulia Navalnaya posted one photo in X which shows her and Dasha side by side — she looks into the lens covering her mouth with her hand and Dasha is wrapped in a black coat and looks sad elsewhere.

“My sweet girl. I came here to you hug and support you and you sit and support me. So strong, brave and resilient. We will face it all, for sure, my love. It's so beautiful to have you by my side. I love you“, writes Iulia.

It is unclear where and when this photo was taken. The 47-year-old Navalnaya was last week in Munich when she was informed about the death of her husband, the most famous Russian dissident in the West. Dasha, the eldest child of the Navalny couple, is a student at Stanford University in the USA.

Yulia Navalny has vowed to carry on her husband's work and blamed his death on President Vladimir Putin, a charge the Kremlin angrily rejected. Putin has not commented publicly on the death of Navalny, who was serving prison terms on a range of charges – including extremism and fraud – that totaled 30 years. He claimed that the charges were fabricated to silence him.

The Kremlin has said it is not responsible for his death, which it says is being investigated.
