“I cry for the moments we lost to live,” says dead cyclist widow

Cyclist Vitor Felisberto Medrado, 46, killed on Thursday (13) during a robbery in Sao Paulo, was buried on Saturday (15) in Belo Horizonte (MG).

“The family is shaken,” relatives reported to Itatiaia during Vitor’s wake.

Jaqueline Medeiro dos Santos, cyclist widow, sees the moment “not just as a loss, it’s a hole. Each loses a piece of itself. ”

“We don’t cry for the moments we lived, but for the moments we lost to live with him. It hurts to think that I won’t have Vitor to live from now on, ”said Jaqueline.

The family lamented that projects that were already being worked on and other moments will no longer be able to count on Vitor’s presence. The relatives said that a grandson of Josy Lima, sister of the cyclist, is about to be born.

“We don’t expect such a situation. My brother was always working with cycling, every day he leaves home, but then he doesn’t return? How does this? It’s not natural, ”asked Josy.

“We’re all here wanting to go home and he didn’t come back, all because of a cell phone. We can go to the store to change our cell phone, but what about my brother’s life? There is no tranquility in Brazil. ”

Family members said they will seek justice from the authorities.

Assault in SP

Vitor was shot around his neck on Thursday morning after a robbery in front of the People’s Park in Itaim Bibi, a prime area of the state capital. The cyclist was rescued but died in the hospital.

According to the police report, the person who called the Military Police reported that the criminals shot without even announcing the robbery.

Cyclist Gustavo Ladeira, who had known Vitor for 13 years, said his friends were all caught by surprise.

“Vitor was a good person, totally of peace, friend of everyone. I had a lot of project ahead. It was not just his life that was interrupted, his family, his students, ”he said during the wake.

“Some friends are gone, but all by accident. It is the first time because of a violence caused by some human being. We need to break it, a violent death is not normal. An accident is part of life, a violent death like that. ”
