“I didn’t give up and I’m going to take my arguments to the federal government”, says Tarcísio about the privatization of the Port of Santos

The privatization of the Port of Santos was on the agenda at the first meeting of the new São Paulo government secretariat, which took place late this Monday afternoon (2) and lasted about three hours. During a press conference held after the meeting, Tarcísio de Freitas, from the Republicans, stated that he has not given up on the project and that he will take the arguments to the federal government.

“Privatization could attract BRL 20 billion in investment. We are talking about revitalizing the historic area of ​​Santos and solving the mobility problem, but we are going to consider a plan B”, he said.

Tarcísio also reaffirmed the intention to privatize the state supply company, Sabesp, and about measures that can be taken together for the situation of Cracolândia, in the center of São Paulo.

The 25 secretaries, including Guilherme Afif, from the special secretariat for strategic projects, met with governor Tarcísio de Freitas, from the Republicans, in Sala São Paulo at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, seat of the government of São Paulo.

Among them, Gilberto Kassab, government secretary, Eleuses Paiva, health secretary and Renato Feder, education secretary. After 28 years of PSDB in charge, the objective of the starting point of the new management was to plan and decide the priorities for the first 100 days of government, but also to direct the guidelines for the next four years.
