Nominated for an Oscar 2024 as Best Actor for “Rustin” , Colman Domingo stated, in an interview with Vanity Fairthat your CV is unique and that you don't know anyone with a career like yours.
“I know my career is very unique. It doesn't look like anyone else's. I don’t know anyone, white or black, who has a career like mine,” he said.
“If you look at 'If Beale Street Could Talk', 'Zola', 'The Supreme Voice of the Blues', 'Rustin', 'Fear the Walking Dead' and 'The Color Purple' it's all very personalized,” he added.
At 54 years old, with an extensive list of films, series and plays under his belt, Domingo received his first Oscar nomination, but his third among the main entertainment awards in the United States. He was nominated for a Tony for the Broadway musical “The Scottsboro Boys” and the Emmy, for “Euphoria” – taking home the prize.
“I have been working for 33 years. For me to have this now is because people understand what I do,” she said.
