In the three dots at the bottom of the phrase “Mollo everything and …” there is an imaginary for each of us made of Caribbean beaches, serenity and absence of those problems that ruin us everyday life. A dream that we should never abandon, but that, to really lead to a positive change, should take into account some awareness, such as those who learn from Lorella’s story.
From Tuscany to Egypt: drastically changing work to be happier
Lorella’s is the story of a woman who at 37 years old realizes that she is not satisfied with her work. Tuscany, accountant in his father’s studyat a certain point a fatal encounter, the one with diving. “It has become a drug. I came to the point where I spent the money I earned almost entirely to immerse myself; At that point I wondered if I could change the setting of my life ».
And that’s how it goes to the father to ask for a break from that family study where frictions due to a different approach to work were born, which over time have deteriorated the ties a little. “I asked him if I could do a life change in Egypt: if he hadn’t been for him maybe I would never have done it because I started knowing that if I had returned the job he would have been there waiting for me.”
So, in 2009, prepared the luggage, he left with the man who was his husband at the time: a first test bench made complex since the beginning of the so -called Arab spring, a period of protests and agitations that began at the end of 2010: “I did not perceive great dangers, but suddenly there was nothing to do because tourists were missing and so I returned to Italy”.
A misunderstanding that does not make it desist and shortly afterwards returns to Egypt, this time to Marsa Alam, where over time the Monkey diversdiving center annexed to a resort that is faced with a very suggestive point for those who love the underwater world, the elphistone reef.

After the Mollo everything: the challenges for an entrepreneurous woman in Egypt
The choice of Egypt was certainly not accidental: a place where the marine ecosystem, according to the investigations of Alpitour World, which has been active here since the eighties, is the main reason for the journey for most those who choose this destination.
Thus, overcome revolutions and pandemics, and the consequent sacrifices, today Lorella coordinates about ten Egyptian boys. A goal, this, conquered not without effort and thanks to the use of some relational strategy: «The first years I had bad experiences because I tried to say” do that “and inevitably men did not be fine. Then I changed method: if you tell him there is this to do and you are the best for that task, then everything becomes simpler ».
Also thanks to the relationship with an Egyptian man – “extremely mentally open”, he specifies – now he looks at his relationship with Egyptian culture in an extremely serene way: «I have always tried to respect local culture without however making me good compromised unacceptable for me. If I want to wear Bermuda, for example, I do it, but maybe with a long -leg length ».
From a great fear to a totalizing passion
That’s right, Lorella’s love for diving actually was born from a terrible fear: “Due to childhood trauma I could not put my head under water and I took the diving course just to win my fear of the sea. And I would say that he worked, today immerse myself makes me relax enormously ».
He thus developed an eye for those who arrive afraid of his diving center: «Fish does not give a damn about us. If you suffer from claustrophobia in general I do not recommend it, in all other cases there are techniques that help us familiarize with the underwater world. What I know for sure is that even just seeing a small fish changes your mood ».

And although the so -called Coral Bleaching (in Italian coral bleaching) is also affecting the Red Sea barrier, the enchantment and the amazement that is felt by diving or snorkelling are extraordinary. «Respect for those who immerse themselves fortunately are also improving thanks to the information that is transmitted in the courses. Less in those who snorkelling, they often want to touch everything ».
How it is to live in a place where others go on vacation
Lorella tells us that initially lived in the hotel where the Monkey Divers is located: there he did not have to think about the dinner or to do the cleaning, but over time other priorities have had precedence. “In the hotel I didn’t have a private life: even for dinner at the restaurant who is on vacation stops you and speaks to you, not understanding that you are not working.”
He then takes an apartment in Marsa Alam and today he tells us about his daily life – “I work seven days a week” – with the eyes, of a fascinating blue, who shine them: «After more than fifteen years I am still happy with my choice because every day I do the work I like. To those who think, however, that giving up everything and changing life is a way to escape from problems, I say that in my experience those follow you everywhere, there is nothing to do ».
