“I make myself available to any public body”, says Gusttavo Lima in live

The country singer Gusttavo Lima held a live on Instagram, on the night of this Monday (30), to comment on the latest controversies involving his name – including his concerts organized by city halls, which are under investigation in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

Speaking for just over 20 minutes to his followers, Gusttavo said that he puts himself “at the disposal of any public body to see the veracity of things”.

With performance contracts signed with the municipality of Conceição do Mato Dentro (MG) for R$ 1.2 million, and with Magé (RJ) for R$ 1.004 million, he argued: “It is not because it is a city hall that I I will stop charging my value.”

“I live on it, I feed on it, I put food on the table of my collaborators, my family through my work – regardless of whether it’s a public show or a private show. My value is one and it won’t change, you know?”, he asked during the live.

“[Dinheiro de prefeitura] I think it’s a big part of valuing the art and talents of Brazil. It’s not because we make music that we shouldn’t sometimes receive a significant and fair value. If I cost 1, the city is not going to pay me 0.5,” she added.

The country singer also pointed out that he is a guy “who does very few city hall shows”. “And when we sometimes still make some, he is massacred as if he were a bandit,” he said.

“I have never benefited from public money or borrowing such a thing or anything like that. My life has always been work. […] So, I don’t condone public money. Everything I have was grated with a lot of sweat, it was a lot of work, you know? My life is singing. If I have a nice house to live in, you can be sure it came out of my throat,” she added.

“I’m about to throw in the towel”

During the live, the singer even wiped his tears at times. “Lately I’ve been taking so many hits, but so many hits, that I’ve been putting up with it all in silence. I don’t know why so much hate, why so much persecution,” he said.

“Sometimes they generate so many negative things that we end up getting paranoia. You don’t know how much this has been hurting me emotionally, physically this past week. So I wanted you to have a little more sensitivity with us”, he said, asking the press to contact his team before publishing “any news”.

Gusttavo Lima even said that “he never imagined that being successful would bring so much envy, so much bad stuff”. “I swear to you I’m tired, man. I’m about to throw in the towel,” he said, at another point in the broadcast.

At the end of the live, he returned to talk about the public shows.

“I have no connection with public money. My money is made from my throat, private. And, if one day I already did a city hall show, as all artists do, it’s not because it’s City Hall X or Y that I’ll stop charging my price”, he said.

“The only thing I have to sell is my music, it’s my art, it’s my work. So don’t ask me for free the only thing I have to sell,” she concluded.
