Lawyer José Francisco Barbosa Abud recognized for providing racist offenses against a judge, in a lawsuit in Rio de Janeiro, was found dead, on Monday (28), at his home in Campos dos Goytacazes, Baixada Fluminense.
In March of this year, in a petition attached to the ABUD case pointed out that the magistrate had rejected a request he had requested, but, in an offensive and racist way, he said that she rejected justifying with the “African descent magistrate with remnants of senzala and repression or cellular memory of the whip.”
In another passage, the author of the offenses also points out that “prevaric decisions made by admonished dolls of the daughters of the sinhás of the houses of mill”, about the positions of the judge. See the excerpts of the petition:
The statements were made to magistrate Helenice Rangel Gonzaga Martins, the holder of that court.
At the time, the TJRJ classified Abud’s statements as incompatible with the respect necessary for institutional relations. In a statement, the institution states that the offenses constitute a violation of the ethical and legal principles of law. The court also pointed out that the attack reaches the magistrate’s personal and professional honor.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution Service (MPRJ) and the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/RJ). The measure aims to investigate the responsibilities of the lawyer in the criminal and disciplinary spheres.
