“I see my trajectory as a mission”, says Zezé Motta

On the eve of the Black Consciousness holiday, Zezé Motta, actress and singer, points out that the date cannot yet be celebrated. “Unfortunately we still cannot say that it is a day of celebration, of celebration, but of reflection to turn this game around!”, She focuses.

In an interview with Letícia Vidica, creator of the CNN No Plural project, Zezé Motta spoke about ageism and the importance of the presence of black people in multiple segments.

“I see my career as a mission. I feel predestined. Everything I have done and tried to do is the best way possible, with the concern that it be done with a lot of responsibility and with a lot of dignity. I am very honored, for example, when a woman, especially a young black woman, says that I am an inspiration. Today I see that recognition is an important thing,” she says.

Zezé Motta is honored at the 2nd International Expo of Black Consciousness and sang at the opening of the event. Shortly before going on stage, she left a message about the meaning of Black Consciousness. “Without a doubt, we are already reaping the fruits of our years of struggle. That is to conquer more space for black people, in the media, in short, in all segments” she concludes.
