I. Smyrlis (Secretary General of DOSE): Our goal is the coordination of the ministries to facilitate trade

The importance of coordinating the actions needed to facilitate trade, so that it is carried out quickly, predictably and in the most economical way, stressed the Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Extroversion (DOSE) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Smyrlis in 2 of the Government Trade Facilitation Committee, which he convened today, as coordinator.

Mr. Smyrlis pointed out that the goal of coordination can be achieved by accelerating, digitizing and automating all pre-customs and customs procedures, through the coordinated cooperation of the involved services from all ministries.

The Secretary General also stressed that the main goal in the first phase is to formulate a Road Facilitation Charter with specific actions and a clear timetable for their preparation. To this end, it was unanimously decided to set up, within the month, a Trade Facilitation Working Group, which will draw up a draft Roadmap, in consultation with the services involved, as well as the producers, and submit it to the Commission.

In the meeting, which took place remotely due to a pandemic, participated as members of the Committee, the secretaries. Tax Policy and Public Property of the Ministry of Finance, Emmanouil Mastromanolis, Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment, Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, Public Order, Konstantinos Tsouvalas, Digital Governance, Ioslopoulos, Klousougitsos , Rural Development and Food Christiana Kalogirou, Coordination of the Presidency of the Government, Athanasios Kontogeorgis, as well as the Commander of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, George Pitsilis and the representative of the Secretary General.
