“I thought my career was over,” says Meryl Streep in Cannes

Meryl Streep 74, was one of those honored at the opening of the Cannes Festival this Tuesday (14). Star of acting, the actress, winner of three statuettes of the Oscar and several other industry awards, he received the honorary Palme d'Or — which celebrates his contribution to cinema.

Afterwards, a retrospective of Streep's career was shown and the American actress soon thanked her for all the recognition.

“Watching this clip is like looking out the window of a high-speed train, running like lightning from my youth to my 50s, to the present day,” he began.

“When I was in Cannes, 35 years ago, for the first time, She was already a mother of three children. I was approaching 40 and thought my career was over.
