Meryl Streep 74, was one of those honored at the opening of the Cannes Festival this Tuesday (14). Star of acting, the actress, winner of three statuettes of the Oscar and several other industry awards, he received the honorary Palme d'Or — which celebrates his contribution to cinema.
Presented by the French actress Juliette Binoche 60, Meryl it was called an “international treasure” and applauded by the public. “When I see you on the screen, I don't see you, I see a movement,” said Binoche.
“You’ve done musicals, dramas, comedies, tragedies, and we haven’t even started talking about your theater career. How did you manage to raise four children, on top of that? You conquered the world. Congratulations to 'Super Touper Dacing Queen',” she added, referencing the Abba songs sung by the actress in “Mamma Mia” .
Afterwards, a retrospective of Streep's career was shown and the American actress soon thanked her for all the recognition.

“Watching this clip is like looking out the window of a high-speed train, running like lightning from my youth to my 50s, to the present day,” he began.
“When I was in Cannes, 35 years ago, for the first time, She was already a mother of three children. I was approaching 40 and thought my career was over. At the time, for an actress, this was a reasonable prediction. The only reason I'm here tonight is because of the wonderful artists I've worked with, including Madame President,” she concluded.
