Yocheved Lifshitz a hostage released by Hamas, told reporters this Tuesday (24) that she “went through hell”.
Lifschitz, 85, was held captive in the Gaza Strip for more than two weeks before being released and returned to Israel on Monday night (23).
“It was difficult, but we will get through it,” he said, recounting his experience to journalists outside Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center.
Speaking in Hebrew and sitting next to her daughter who translated, Lifchitz described how she was captured by Hamas gunmen during the brutal terrorist attack on Israel on October 7.
“I was kidnapped on a motorcycle that was next to me as they drove towards Gaza,” Lifschitz said.
Her daughter explained how her head was resting on one side of the motorcycle while her feet dangled on the other.
“It was a painful act. They took us to a gate. I was lying on my side on the motorcycle. I got bruises from driving,” Lifshitz added.
Lifshitz’s daughter explained that her mother was taken to a “huge network” of spider web-like tunnels where she was kept.
