A saint’s father was shot after suffering attacks due to his religion, during the early hours of last Saturday (17), in Mauá, at ABC Paulista.
According to Leandro Teixeira dos Santos, known as Leandro de Oyá, he was walking through the neighborhood during a rite of his religion, wearing the traditional candomblé clothes when he was surprised by the suspected man.
In a video published on social networks, the candomblecist lamented the attack on and said it was “very serious” what happened.

After the attack, he was rescued to a region hospital and is doing well.
In a statement, the Public Security Bureau said the man was arrested in the act, moments after the crime. After the arrest, he confessed to the crime.
The weapon used in the attack was seized and the man was taken to the 1st DP of the city.
The case was registered as illegal possession or possession of a restricted use firearm, bodily injury and injury, due to race, color, ethnicity, etc.
