Ian Martin’s appointment as head of UNRWA’s strategic evaluation was announced by Antonio Guterres

UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres announced today the appointment of Mr Ian Martin from the United Kingdom as the head of the United Nations Strategic Evaluation Strategy for Relief and Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East UNRWA. Mr Guterres entrusted Mr Martin to conduct a strategic evaluation in order to review the impact of UNRWA, the implementation of its mandate under current political and economic restrictions, security challenges and the consequences and dangers to Palestinian refugees. In addition, it has been commissioned by Mr Martin to identify the action options of the Member States and/or the United Nations and to examine the overall orders of the United Nations provided by the General Assembly and the Security Council.
