The 2024 edition of the iconic tree Christmas in Ibirapuera Park It opened last Saturday (30) at 8:30 pm. According to the park’s concessionaire, Urbia, it will be the largest tree the park has ever had and the first to allow the public to enter the structure to see its illuminated interior .
The park will also have other Christmas attractions throughout December, such as castle made of ice and a forest lit up with toys for children . Some of the attractions are paid.
Urbia states that this year’s Ibirapuera Christmas tree will have 57 meters high, 330 thousand lamps and 40 thousand flashes – by way of comparison, the tree at Parque Villa-Lobos, which was inaugurated last Saturday, is 55 meters high, with 210,000 LED lighting points.
For the second year in a row, the Ibirapuera tree will be sponsored by Nubank and, therefore, will have purple and white tones. To celebrate the inauguration, there was a show by Orquestra Furiosa from the Ibirapuera Park Music School and light fountains on the lake, in addition to Santa Claus passing by.
The tour inside the tree will be free on a first-come, first-served basis and will operate every day, from opening until January 5th, from 7:30 pm to 10 pm .
Because of the Christmas tree, SPTrans informs that on weekends, from 6:30 pm to 10 pm, until January 5th, 25 bus lines will have their routes diverted.
Ice castle, lighted forest and more
In addition to the Christmas tree, the woods around the Ibirapuera lake will also be lit up and act as a “magical forest”. There will be playgrounds for children aged three to 12, as well as a light tunnel for taking photographs.
Starting this Sunday (1), visitors will also have access to other Christmas programs at the park, some of which are paid.
One of the attractions is a castle made of crystal ice, 8 meters high and 13 meters long, which will operate between December 12th and January 12th. It will be possible to walk and take photos inside it and play on one of its three slides. Tickets cost from R$ 89.90 and children up to 13 years old are free.
The Natura Christmas Village, sponsored by the cosmetics company, will have interactive activities, such as Christmas card workshops and games, as well as a meeting point with Santa Claus.
The Ibirapuera Auditorium will host Nutcracker theater shows, between December 6th and 15th, with tickets from R$21.18 to R$200 – on December 8th, there will be a free session.
According to Urbia, the theme of the Christmas party this year will be “Nature at a Party in Parque dos Sonhos”, addressing the importance of environmental preservation. “In a magical way, visitors will have contact with Mother Nature and the Christmas Spirit, characters who will guide the story that will be told in the multimedia fountain show, on the lake”, says the concessionaire.
“This year’s expectation is to receive more than 2.5 million people by January 5, 2025, the date on which the celebrations end”, states the concessionaire. Last year, the Christmas debut of Ibirapuera Park alone attracted around 147 thousand people, according to Urbia.
Neurodivergent people will be able to request sound mufflers from the park staff to visit the attractions. In addition, a reserved and covered area will be available to people with disabilities (PwDs), with face-to-face service in pounds on weekends.
