Ibovespa has little variation with unfavorable exterior and attention on PEC; dollar falls

The Ibovespa had a slight variation this Monday, in the midst of an unfavorable external environment, while financial agents continue to follow the negotiations involving the Transition PEC and await a definition by the ministerial team of the new government.

At 11:50 am, the Ibovespa rose 0.03% to 109,014.33 points. The commercial dollar fell 0.49%, quoted at R$ 5.384.

The financial volume amounted to 5 billion reais. This Monday, Brazil will play again in the World Cup, at 1 pm, but Wall Street has a normal session, unlike the selection’s debut in the championship last week, when the combination of the game and the holiday in the United States emptied the bag paulista.

According to the team at Bradesco’s Department of Economics, caution prevails in the markets, amid demonstrations against the Covid-zero policy in China, with stock markets in Europe and the US following the tone in Asia, where the trading sessions had a negative closing.

In New York, the S&P 500 was down 0.5%.

In Brazil, attention remains focused on Brasilia. President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will be in the federal capital this week for talks on the transition PEC and may, according to PT president Gleisi Hoffmann, disclose some information about his choices for ministries.

Despite Congress’ resistance to the fiscal content of the PEC’s initial proposal, assesses Guide Investimentos, the permanence of uncertainties surrounding the negotiations and composition of ministries, together with a cautious exterior and the fall in commodities, are still pressure factors for the market place.
