The Ibovespa rose 0.59% at 10:20 am at the opening this Thursday (22), at 108,070.02 points. The good mood of investors during the week was boosted by the reduction in the term of the PEC do Exuro, enacted on Wednesday (21) in Congress.
The dollar had little variation against the real at the opening, in a session with few catalysts in the international arena. At 10:12 am (BrasÃlia time), the spot US currency retreated 0.01%, to R$ 5.20 on sale.
As expected, the PEC maintains the value of expanding the spending ceiling at R$ 145 billion, according to the text approved both in the Senate and in two rounds in the Chamber of Deputies. The term of validity of this extraordinary rule, however, was reduced from two to one year.
With the enactment, the focus of investors on the trading floor should turn to the announcement by President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) about ministers who will compose the new government, announced this Thursday morning.
To date, eight ministers have been announced:
- Farm: Fernando Haddad (PT)
- Defense: Jose Mucio Monteiro
- Civil House: Rui Costa (PT)
- Justice: Flavio Dino (PSB)
- Foreign Relations: Mauro Vieira
- Culture : Margareth Menezes
- I work : Luiz Marinho
- BNDES : Aloizio Mercadante
The Central Bank will hold sales auctions in conjunction with foreign currency purchase auctions, in which it will accept up to R$ 2 billion.
The authority will also auction up to 18,930 traditional foreign exchange swap contracts for the purpose of rolling over the maturity of January 2, 2023.
