Neapolitan pizza lovers have a new reason to celebrate: L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, iconic Italian pizzeria known for his appearance in the movie “Eating, pray, love” (2010), starring Julia Roberts, is coming to Brazil.
She will land in São Paulo still in 2025 and promises to bring the same tradition and quality that they made the pizzeria of Naples an international reference.
Founded in 1870 in the “City of Pizza” Michele’s became an icon of Italian cuisine, offering only two classic flavors: Margherita and Marinara . The simplicity of the menu reflects the pursuit of perfection in ingredients and handcrafted technique, one of the secrets behind the pizzeria’s more than 150 years trajectory.
Fame has consolidated globally after the memorable scene of “eating, praying, loving” in which the character Liz Gilbert, played by Roberts, delights in a Michele pizza in Naples. THE place became a mandatory stopping point of tourists, which form lines to try the round, and of course, ensure a good photo for memory.
With the opening scheduled in Sao Paulo, fans of the Neapolitan pizza and the film will have a chance to prove a faithful experience with the original, with imported ingredients and the same method of preparation used in the matrix.
No details have not yet been released on the opening date and the exact location of the São Paulo unit, but it is expected to open the doors in 2025 in the Jardins neighborhood and bring news in its menu beyond the pizzas, as it occurs in its international units in United States and in United Kingdom.
