Identification of the bodies of the victims of the Vinhedo plane crash “should take days”, says PM

Lieutenant Colonel Emerson Massera, spokesman for the Military Police of São Paulo stated, this Friday (9), that the identification of the bodies of the victims of the plane crash in Vineyard in the interior of São Paulo, “should last for days”. The statement was given during a press conference next to the site where the accident occurred.

“From what we can see preliminarily there, identifying the bodies will not be a very easy task,” the lieutenant pointed out.

According to Massera, the authorities are concerned both with locating the bodies and with assessing the causes of the accident.

Voepass, formerly Passaredo, identified the plane’s passengers.

The company reported that the aircraft had 61 people on board, including 57 passengers and four crew members. The City of Valinhos (SP), which is participating in the rescue operations, reports that there are no survivors.

“Since there are no survivors, there is no reason to rush. What is important is the quality of the work,” added the PM spokesperson.

When asked about the duration of the work, the lieutenant-dyer responded: “I imagine it will last a long time, that it will last a long time… even for days.”
