Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari sent a letter of protest to Israel’s Channel 14 news channel after it aired a video that he said “showed defamatory content that harms the IDF.” The letter came after a video was aired on Channel 14 in which IDF Chief of Staff Herchi Halevi was shown to be surprised to see a religious symbol emblazoned on a uniform. “I am writing to you following the video aired last night on Channel 14, which contained provocative and defamatory content that harms the IDF,” Hagari said. “It is unacceptable for a media outlet in the State of Israel to allow the dissemination of provocative content against the IDF in time of war,” he added.
