“If someone made a mistake, they will be punished”, says president of the evangelical bench about the arrest of Milton Ribeiro and pastors

The president of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front, deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante, highlighted, this Wednesday (22), in the Chamber Plenary, the arrest of former Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, and the pastors involved in the Federal Police Operation.

Sosthenes said that from the beginning he defended removal and investigation. “If during the course of the investigation any illicit act was found, the due punishment to the rigor of the law”, he added.

For him, the arrest of former minister Milton and the pastors was sad news, but he questioned why there was no arrest of the aforementioned mayors.

“If there was passive corruption on the part of the minister, where is the active corruption? Why were there no arrests for the mayors who were supposedly the corruptors? We want the investigation, the punishment of everything and everyone”.

The evangelical deputy defended the government of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and said that there must be punishment. “This government does not throw any mistake under the rug. If someone made a mistake, they will be punished. May this sad episode serve as an example for others,” he concluded.
