If the mother (Queen Maxima of Holland) draws from her daughter’s wardrobe (Princess Amalia)

Not just daughters-in-law rummaging through the mothers-in-law’s wardrobe (read Letizia of Spain and the clothes borrowed from Queen Sofia), or mothers who donate their clothes to their daughters (see Princess Mette-Marit and the garments given to her Ingrid Alexandra ). Mothers also freely draw from their offspring’s closet.

The latest case of “reverse fashion recycling “ is that of Queen Maxima of Holland who, for her latest public release, decided to complete her gritty look not with one, but with two pieces belonging to the daughter Amalia of Holland.

The first is an elegant one navy blue coat with side slits, signed Natan, worn by the eldest daughter at the end of last year. The Princess, at the time, decided to combine it with a floral print midi-dress with décolleté and accessories of the same color.

The second, on the other hand, is an accessory, precisely one rectangular leather clutch in military green tones, which the Queen skilfully combined with her pencil skirt. The same bag was flaunted by Amalia exactly last year, in April, to complete a color block look given by green trousers and light blue blouse with outerwear en pendant.

Two choices, those of the sovereign, which do nothing but confirm how the trend towards fashion recycling is increasingly widespreadbut above all that the typical exchange of mother-daughter clothes and accessories, as well as being a truly universal practice given the numerous cases royaldoes not necessarily have to be one-way. Moms can also borrow. And we can’t help but appreciate.

Well done Queen!
