If Windows 7 came out in 2022, it would look like this. PERFECT!

Well-known in narrow circles designer Addy Visuals showed a modern version of Windows 7 – what the system would be like if it was released in 2022. The concept maker created a mixture of the original Seven and Windows 11, borrowing recognizable features from both operating systems.

For example, the Start menu and taskbar shortcuts are on the left, not in the middle. The layout of the menu itself is the same as the original one from Windows 7, however it has a translucent backing on the right and the window itself floats above the bottom bar.

The combination of Windows 7 and Windows 11 styles is clearly visible in File Explorer: new minimalistic icons are intertwined here with recognizable back/forward arrow icons, made with a gradient blue-blue effect. Also, the file manager shows tabs that have not yet appeared in the stable version of Windows 11.

The Addy Visuals concept did not do without recognizable elements of Windows 11, including the sidebar of quick settings, quick search and an updated context menu – they are made with little or no changes.

In 2022, it would be impossible to do without a dark theme and corresponding dynamic wallpapers – the designer also depicted them.
